Time for CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST :-)

I was very sceptical about watching this movie . Manan had already told me that its not for the faint at heart . But I decided to take the plunge , and yesterday Manan , Harsha and I sat down to watch CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST on DVD . And I shall regret that decision for the rest of my life .

Its actually a documentary about 4 people who go to the Amazon jungles to document the way of life of a tribe of Cannibals . The movie begins with a rescue mission , led by an anthropololgist from NYU who goes to the jungle to find the team . Predictably , the entire team is dead and eaten :-) . They find the rolls of film left by this group and take it back to NY for development . And what follows made me wanna bury myself .
I cant go into the detail , but some of the scenes depicted :-

--> Humans being mutilated by sticks
--> Intestines being removed and eaten
--> Tribal women being raped by white man
--> White men raping tribal women (vice versa for good effect)
--> Genitelia being chopped off
--> Head being chopped off
--> Pregnant tribal woman accused of infideity being forced to give birth to half developed foetus , which is buried . They actually showed the foetus being extracted from the woman . This was the most painful scene in the entire movie .
--> Skulls of humans killed by the cannibals lying in the jungle , with leaches , lizards , cockroaches ans a zillion other insects crawling through the eyes , ears and every other crevice .
